My exchange 2000 is Suddenly not sending any emails out. It looks like they are going out but the recipients do not get anything. We receive emails from out side without any problems and we can send and receive emails inside. What can cause this????
As you can recieve emails your MX records are fine. You probabably cannot send email as your DNS settings on the Exchange Box are not working very well.
Open up your Exchange Systems Manager
Navigate to Servers -> ExchangeServer -> Protocols -> SMTP -> Default SMTP Virtual Server
Right-click on the default SMTP virtal server and check the properties. Click Advanced. At the bottom, you will find a Configure button which allows you to configure external DNS servers. Make sure that those DNS servers are all correct (having 3 is good redundancy). It is possible your ISP has changed DNS servers IPs etc.
If your problem is not the above, check to see if anyone has messed the setting on your firewall for outgoing SMTP packets.
