Hello,
This is a fresh install of a SBS 2003 server. I am using example.local and than example.com as domain names for local and external domain names.
Exchange is configured to handle external pop3 accounts i.e someone@verizon.net and someoneelse@rr.com and than forwards the email to local users. SMTP is configured to use ISP's email server also.
Problem is I am also hosting the company website and email i.e example.com. Users are able to get email from external email account i.e verizon.net or rr.com but they can not get the email sent to someone@example.com(company's offical site and email) everyone can send emails fine using the someone@example.com address but can not get replie to it. This is really problematic as exchange by default is sending all return addresses on all pop accounts as someone@example.com(the user's local account and company email address). I have already checked the firewalls, MX records. all are reaching fine to the server. Server itself is just not accepting emails.
