Hi all
Getting a 9986 error when trying to run the config wizard for the MP. I've checked the access rights and the service a/c called mom-msaa is an exchange admin and a local admin on the servers. Also the remote registry service is running. We're running a FE/BE ex2003 sp2 config with a 3 node AAP cluster. I've run up the MOM2005 SP1 eval with all the hotfixes on a sql2005 backend.
I'm getting the wizard failing with the 9986 error. It looks like either a cluster or mailbox issue because I could run the wizard successfully against the front-end exchange server. I've also run the network checker out of the reskit which is fine on all nodes.
In
they suggested running dcomcnfg which I did on an active node and the EMPKP object did exist. The executable was in D:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin our exchange install directory.
I ran the wizard again and checked the app log on the passive node - no errors.
The path to the empkp file in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{94A6DCD0-B6F5-40E8-8C9D-CEE2C7796380}\LocalServer32 was correct.
The exMPLS key was not there on any of the nodes. I run the script from the article and it generated.
I re-started the MOM mgmt server for luck and restarted the MOM service on the nodes but when I try to setup the toplogy group as per
1. In the MOM 2005 Administrator Console, locate the Console Root, expand Microsoft Operations Manager\Management Packs, and then click Computer Groups.
2. In the right pane, right-click Microsoft Exchange Topology Discovery Computers, and then click Properties.
There is no topology group. Do I have to restart the cluster servers?
Actually on further investigation the mom mgmt server action a/c is meant to store credentials in that exMPLS key in data1 data2 data3. Which aren't there. Anyone know where to get the SetCredentials tool and how to use it?
MOM is ver 5.2 SP1 I thought that issue was fixed?
