Hi All

Large ex2003/mom2005 system. Got a day's resource left from our vendor on customising MOM for our environment.

Found
But I'd really like some advice on what to ask for. I.E. what doesn't the mgmt pack give you out of the box that is useful for exchange monitoring.

Hi there,
do you currently have MOM 2005 monitoring your exchange environment?
If so, and you're happy, there's probably little more to add - however, if you've not implemented that management pack, it will probably take the day just to install it, and configure the exchange configuration wizard.
The Exchange MP comes with the ability to not only monitor the services, store size and queues, but also to verify mail flow, by the creation of a mailbox per store, and sending mail back and forth between them on a regular interval. This is worth having, and if isn't implemented, then certainly should be.
In addition, the reporting side is also very useful, especially on mailbox size, which is always a bugbear of any Exchange admin :)

Hope that helped
