Exchange: Mailbox Name not Allowed 1

Help! We a running Exchange 5.5 and one of our clients is having trouble emailing us. I can send to him fine, i think the problem lies with his email address. It has an apostrpohe in it ( e.g ' ). I think there is something in exchange that is denying addresses with this character in. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this.

Have you had any luck with this issue since it was posted? We just started experiencing it.

We are using a MS Exchange 2000 server. I am wondering if it is a "sender" problem, because the rejection seems instantaneous as I tested it over the phone with someone from the site that cannot send to us.
