While performing a scheduled backup every night the exchange logs keeps building until it runs out of disk space. The logs arnt being purged.

Has anyone had this problems before as the backup is continually failing.

BE 8.6
exchange 5.5

What about circular logging? Enabled or disabled?

You can't flush the logs if the backup fails. Why is it failing? (If you are concerned over posting the log file to Tek-Tips, send it to zel@zelandakh.co.uk). Once it succeeds you should be fine.

just found it, circular logging is off.

not sure, i know its exchange 2000 but dont know what SP

it has SP1,
i dont know if this is related but i looked up in the backup selection and my mailbox isnt there, Ive been with the company for a few months so i doubt if i've ever been there.

Where are you looking? The Backup tab?

That should contain live data.

Please confirm which Exchange you are using - one post says 5.5 the other says 2000.

we are using exchange 2000 with SP1, BE 8.5
If you go to the backup tab and drill down the mailboxes im not there. I found an article about it in veritas support but it says SP1 resolves it.

i thought it may have been the scheduled backup job so i put that one on hold and created a new one, it backed up ok but created lots of logs and run out of disk space again.

If i backup a single mailbox and the information store it backs up ok and purges the logs...

help.....
