Exchange Log not truncated

Hi everyone here,

I'm using NetBackup 5.1 backing up my Exchange 2003 server but it won't purge away the log once NetBackup completed full backup successfully (status 0), but if i run a full backup using NtBackup, the log files able to be purge automatically.

Any idea why this is happening ???

Are you using a plug-in for your Exch backup or are you shutting down the stores and backing up the DBs?

Is Netbackup 5.1 Exchange aware backup program? Are you just backing up the OS or is there a selection for Information Store? NTBACKUP used on an Exchange server is an Exchange aware application and will fully commit log files after a Full and Incremental backup.
