I am reviewing the backup policy we curently have in place and intend revamping the Exchange backup to make it more comprehensive. During this re-evaluation I am inclined to switch off circular logging on both the Directory and Information store and back them up each night before they are flushed.

I am running BEv8.6 on W2k SP2 with Exchange 5.5 SP4. I notice that the Exchange logs are located on the C:\ drive and am wondering whether I need to specify these logs are to be backed up or do I, as I think I need to, just select the

Full - Database and Logs (flush committed logs)

on the Exchange tab of the backup properties and let Backup Exec do the rest. I imagine that if I select the files/directories on the C:\ I will return errors stating that the files are in use and could not be accessed etc. I think just selecting the Exchange tab and selecting

Full - Database and Logs (flush committed logs)

will resolve my problems. I would value opinions and others experience in this subject before I go and blow my Exchange box to kingdom come :)

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
