I am looking to put in place a new exchange structure whereby I will be adding 6000 new email accounts. This will be additional to my already existing 3000 odd email accounts.
Now I know Exchange is designed to support plenty of accounts but I was looking for recommendations. I want to have a seperate box for the new 6000 accounts but will I need a seperate front-end server to support these mailboxes.

The 6000 new accounts will be using a different email domain from my original 3000. Almost all of the 6000 will access there email via OWA. Will one front-end box be enough to support both sets of users?

9000 through ONE FE?! I don't think I'd do that. I'd have two just for load balancing and redundancy.

If it is a different domain, I'd say definitely go for a new server.

Thanks guys
