Exchange is turning my xml into xml attachments

Hi, Im having trouble with Exchange, once I send mail(xml form) into exchange it converts the xml into a mail with an xml attachment, and then passes this one to the pop account application that calls for the mail.
Has anyone has a similiar problem?
Is there a way for me to override this behaviour in Exchange?
What causes this to happen?
