Hi, first post and I need help please!

My company (A web designers) have been asked to change the MX record on our clients hosting account so they can use their Exchange on SBS 2003. What I need to know is, how do I set this up?

I can change the MX record to their IP Address (I'm assuming of their server)

But what do I need to do on their server? Currently they have POP3 Connector Plugin enabled

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi,

You need to create an A Record that points to their server's static IP address (you may have a control panel for this provided by the ISP - if not, ask the ISP to set this up for you). Then point the MX records at the A record (not directly at the IP). On the server, rerun the CEICW - Connect to Email and Internet Connection Wizard - and instruct the server to receive email direct to Exchange instead of the POP3 connector. No config changes needed on the client PC's.

Regards Colin.
