I am running Windows NT 4.0 Server using Ms Exchange 5.5SP2.
Also running Groupshield and filtering file extensions. How do I save attachments that are blocked by Groupshield and put into the quarantine?I need a step by step procedure. I think I use the Resolve Name utility but I don't know exactly how.

Hello,

I believe by default Groupshield places them in a log directory. Here are a couple things you could check.

(1) Open up Exchange Administrator program
(2) Under "Servers" highlight your "server" on the left
hand side.
(3) On the right hand side you should see something that
displays "Network Associates Groupshield". Double
click on this to bring up the properties.
(4) There are 2 tabs you can check:
(A) Check the "logging" tab. At the very bottom of
the screen you will see the directory of the
quarantine location.
(B) Also, check the "On Access" tab. In the middle
of screen there is a drop down menu called,
"Action to perform upon virus protection". Check
to make sure Quarantine is defined here.

(5) You may also want to consider updating your Exchange
to at least SP3.

Running Name Resolve will enable NAI Groupshield to resolve names in your Exchange Directory to include in the logging process in the quarantine database. Name Resolve is run from a command prompt and may take some time to run.
