Exchange error in active directory

I am getting the following error, our exchange server is in
the DS group and I have gone thru the steps to re-add our
exchange server to the group. I would appreciate any information about a next step I can take on this.

Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to add the local computer as a member of the DS group object 'cn=Exchange Domain Servers,cn=Users,dc=co,dc=harrison,dc=tx,dc=us'.

Please stop all the Microsoft Exchange services, add the local computer into the group manually and restart all the services.

Just a first thought, have you tried setting all the exchange services to disabled, restarting the server then adding?

No, I can try that. Will let you know.

I removed our exchange server from the group exchange domain servers shut down the server restarted it and added back to the group, still getting the error.

seems to describe two fixes, looks like you've tried number 2, but maybe number 1 will help?
