Exchange conversion from a dialup to adsl

This is my first hands on work with exhange and here is my problem: My client recently switched from a dialup to adsl (with a static IP). I've got most of the dns settings from their email host but cannot seem to get the mail to receive into their email server. Any reccomendations as to what I might be missing?

Your going to need to have DNS resolution from the internet. If ISP hosts DNS then have them add an A record for your servername.domain.com and also an MX record. Then make sure people can get to port 25 on your mail server.
