Exchange Child Domain Problem

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Scenario

I have a domain called test.com and a child domain called what.test.com. RUS has been added on test.com for what.test.com and the domain has been prepped on what.test.com for Exchange

Problem

Clients on test.com domain using the Outlook client cannot expand group members in global groups that reside in what.test.com

Well group expansion is done by the clients local Global Catalog server if memory serves so that should be your first point to check.
