Hi Guys

wondering if someone can help?

i have migrated from exchange server 2003 to exchange server 2010 and have a Go Daddy certificate from the old server, i have migrated the exchange certificate over but outlook keeps popping up with "the name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site".

am i right in saying this is because the Go Daddy cert has the name of the old exchange server in it? do i need a new certificate?

Many thanks

The fact that a (now) unused name is in the cert doesn't matter. Exchange 2007 and 2010 require additional names in the certificate, including your autodiscover name, web services URLs, etc.

See and then request a new Subject Alternative Name certificate from your preferred vendor.

If both servers are SBS servers, you can get away with having a single-name cert, but otherwise you are going to want a UCC\SAN\multi-name cert as 58Sniper says.
