Exchange Calendar Retention Period

I am trying to find where the Exchange Calendar item retention period is set. I have a user that cannot see anything beyond 3 months while others can go back well beyond this limitation. Im assuming there is a global setting. Seeing beyond this limit may be from archiving?
Where is this option set or is it hard coded???
