I am backing up Exchange 2003 data. Exchange is located on a remote server. I am using Backup Exec 9.1
Backup speed is about 39mb per minute. So far it took me 13 hours to backup 33GB of data. Is this normal?

Exchange is running on a Xeon server with 1GB RAM. Backup Exec is running on PIII server with 512mb RAM. Backing up over 100mb LAN to a VXA2 autoloader attached to the PIII server.

Thanks in advance.

If the 39mb/min is backing up the mailboxes then yes. Your information store should be faster to backup

Thanks.
I am backing up mailboxes. Maybe in the future I shouldn't. All the stores and logs are about 120gb in size. So far it's taken 15 hours to backup 60GB.

Um, the exchange folk would laugh about backing up mailboxes, though I do still do it.

I do bricklevels once a week. Mailstores nightly. I have 120GB in stores.

Why would Exchange folk laugh about backing up mailboxes?
