Hi Folks.

I have an interesting problem. On site here, SOME users when they invite attendees to a meeting using Outlook 98 (meeting request), the invite is also sent to other staff - sometimes the entire global directory. There is no apparent or obvious pattern - not all staff are affected by the problem, and not all staff receive the invite all the time. Checked in Technet - nothing :-( so I though I would ask some real experts.

Exchange 5.5 SP3, NT4 SP6.
Clients, Win98, Off97, OL98 with Security update

Cheers

Martyn

Dumb one - have you checked the journal / sent items to see if they invited everyone?

Watch them do it first in case it is stupid.

Got Office 97 SP2?

Not so dumb...

But yes we have checked and the recipient (required) list may be only one person..

Interestingly, the same effect occurs when users cancel meeting appointments. - 150 people get told that the meeting is cancelled..

BTW - we are on Off97 SP1 - try SP2 this afternoon.

Another dumb one - some of the recipients invited to the meeting haven't setup some funny delegates have they - where they have left the tickbox for "Delegate receives copies of meeting related messages sent to me" selected.

Fagan,

You are a Star! :)

Well done. The users had given others editor access rather that read only access to the Calandar!
