Exchange and Firewall

I need to communicate Exchange 5.5 with clients (outlook) throught a Firewall (Watchguard).

I read about setting EX to use static ports, and I´ve done it but I am not sure if it is using fixed ports now. How can I test it ?

Wich other ports needs to be open ?

Is it secure ?
