Exchange Agent build 414

Hello

We are having trouble getting the exchange agent to install properly on a windows 2000 advanced server box with exchange 2000.

We have been through various procedures and CA have recommedned that we install sp4 so that we are upto build 450.

Can anyone tell me how to get/install this. There seems to be sp4 for arcserve available but arcserve is running on a different machine (we only want the agent on this one)so we can't install that.

Hello again.

I posted about the same problem last week. Have been through the faq and checked all of the settings and files that people have recommended.

I was really trying to find out how to make sure that i am installing the very latest release of the agent and if not where to get it.

If you want to update the Exchange agent to the lates build...

You will have to apply SP4 onto the Exhcange agent...

If you have not installed it yet...
Download SP3 for AS2000 from the CA support site, extract it using Winzip , run the setup from the exchange.dba folder.

now apply SP4 onto this...
This will bring the build of the agent to 450 ....

Now I am ever so confused.

We do not have arcserve 2000 installed on the exchange box, only the exchange agent. We have got sp4 for AS2000 but can't see a way of applying it to the agent only.

Maybe i am missing someting.

Ok here goes,....

the SP4 for ARcserve has updates for both the Base product as well as other agents and option including the Exchange
agent...

If you run the Executable , it will pull up a products explorer, which automatically selects the options that have been installed on that specific box...

just run the Sp4.exe on the Exchange machine, it should select the Backup Agent for Exchange automatically and update it...
