Hi all

OK I have the Exchange Agent backing up to bricks level, I can restore personal directorys OK, but I get error "Exchange System Error" & a "Read/Write Error in Named Pipes" when I try to restore and public folders. I have looked at the Arcserve FAQ's and it mentions about dismounting the public folders, but I am unsure what it means by that, or if thats even the problem.

Thanks

HI,

For Exchange 5.5 you dont have to dismount the public store... coz there is no such option with 5.5

you just have to stop the Info Store.

are you restoring to an alternate server??

try restoring just one folder...

and .. u need to have write permissions on the public folders to restore properly..

cheers

Does anybody know how to solve this issue???
i am getting the same error as bluechips. I am running ARCServe 2000 w/the ARCServe 2000 exchange backup agent on exchange. I keep getting this message "e8602 FAILED TO READ FROM DATABASE (DBNAME=Individual Mailboxes\(user mailbox)\(mailbox), EC=BACKUP AGENT ERROR --(69) "Read/Write error in named pipes."). So have you solved the issue yet, if so, what was the solution. Please help.!!

thanks

Tried the patch, then tried doing a test fulll backup
arcserve is still backing up for the last 2 days, its still going, not sure why. any ideas?

Did you restart all the services of arcserve & backup agent rpc service in the exchange box...

Do u still get these error messages or the thru put is slow? DatabaseBaba...
