We have a Windows 2000 server with Exchange 2000 installed, the BE remote agent is also installed. We have a second server that has BE 8.6 with the exchange agent installed, we have made a admin account for BE that we belive has all the correct rights. When we look in the backup selections we can pick the mailboxes and see all of them but we can't see the Dir and the Information store options. We would also like to know how to backup the active directory.

Any ideas?

Not too sure on the AD but it sounds like everything is set up correctly if you can expand and see individual mailboxes. We are running W2k and Exchange 5.5, it is not possible to expand and select options from within the Directory and Information stores, I can only expand mailboxes. I'd call Veritas and run it past them.

cheers

We have an older version of BE with the Exchange agent. Our exchange that it backs up is 5.5 on an NT 4.0 server. In that version we can see a directory option and IS option and the brick level backup of all mailboxes. I'm just not sure why those options are not available on our 2000 exchange server or is it because of active directory?

I figured it out, The 2000 server that the BE is installed on Must be a Backup domain controller. It also must have the 2000 exchange administrator installed on it so the IS option and the ADC buttons show up.
