Exchange admin closes for no reason ?

Setup : Windows 2000/NT domain (mixed mode)
1 Exchange 5.5 server SP3

since installing the ADC on our 2000 server i have a problem. When i try to create a mailbox using Exchange 5.5 admin, the program closes without creating the m/box.
There is nothing in the event log to show why this is happening ?. I am still able to modify and delete existing m/boxes, but not create anything new. Anyone come accross this ? or have any ideas ?

Is the server a member server? If it is a DC make sure to change the LDAP port for Exchange to 390. Dan
