Hi Everyone,
I was upgrading my exchange 5.5 server (i386) today and ran into problems. Just as it was finalizing and registering to Registry, it brought the error:
----------------------
"Processing file ....\server.ins" at or near line 276
No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.

Microsoft Windows NT
ID No: 0xc0020534
----------------------

and the installation aborted just before completion. The result is that I could not open my Private information store though exchange could run.

I also received this error some time back when I tried to install IMS.
What can I do to solve the problems.

Maricus

How did you resolve this issue? I am getting this error message when i try to install sp4, but the exchange server IS the PDC (SmallBusinessServer) so I am lost as to how I can fix this....

The article explains communication was lost to the PDC. I assume all you need to do is reboot your PDC. Maricus never replied back so i'm assuming that is what he did to resolve. Try rebooting your PDC

Hi guys,

as a matter of fact, I aws stuck, I restarted the computer but but the problem still persisted. The option I took was this: since my users were using personal folders ( and I ensured notbody's mail was pending on the server), I just uninstalled exchange 5.0 and installed 5.5 and hooray! I then reconnected my users.

I am not advising that this long path be taken, but the link by zoeythecat did not offer much of solution. So far I cannot tell what to do to solve this problem if ever happens again to me or anyone.

Well, obviously a bug with Exchange 5.0. Always good to have the latest and greatest. Exchange 55 is much better. Hopefully you installed SP4 which is the latest Service Pack.
