Good morning everyone,

I have a question about Exchange 5.5 Synchronization. A user requested to have access to another users mailbox and i have granted that request HOWEVER. How long does it take for this to synch up? this has happened several times in the past, I was just wondering if there was a way to manually synch it up?

Thanks so much

Zack

I have seen it take up to 30 minutes. When you give the user permissions make sure they don't already have the mailbox added. They should wait to until after you have it done. Do you have more than 1 server? If so then you could probably force replication and that would resolve the issue.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

How would one go about forcing replication? we do have 2 servers.

Thanks

Zack

Sorry for taking so long, I had a wee holiday! anyways they are located at the same site

Thanks

Zack

In the same site, servers will replicate changes to their directory automatically within 10 minutes.

If you want to force directory changes within a site, you can pull to a server using Admin, Configuration, Servers, <server-name>, Directory Service, and click on the button Update Now. Under nearly every normal circumstance, you then want the default radio button, Update only new and modified objects.
