Exchange 5.5 slow sending and recieving emails!

Hi all - Hope you can help!

Our exchange server seems to be taking quite a long time for it to send emails to the outside world. Infact, one email took a few hours to the reach the recipient. Also it seems to be taking a similar amount of time for emails to arrive back to us.
Emails sent within the network are sent instantly, so no problem there.

Also, If someone is sending an email to us with an attachment, it seems to slow down even more and our email security Black Spider to stopping them everytime, even though they should be released without any problems.

Any help will be much appriecated.

Have you checked your mail queues to see if you're the victim of a reverse NDR attack?

As far as Black Spider is concerened, I'm sorry I can't help you as I've never used it before.
