I have an Exchange 5.5 server with a priv.edb that is 14.2GB or 15,330,189,312 bytes in size. Which number is more accurate when it comes to the 16GB store limit, the GB figure or the actual bytes figure?

Well, to tell you the truth, both numbers are accurate. Seeing as they are the exact same number in different units, for lack of a better word.

If you do the math you'll see that 15,330,189,312 bytes is 14.28 GB!

Hope this helps!

You don't have to worry about 16GB limit as I think 16gb limit does not apply to 5.5. I have 25GB.

The 16BG limit does apply to 5.5, unless you have the Enterprise Edition.

The only way that you can tell if you have Standard versus Enterprise Edition of Exchange 5.5 is to view the application event log for the startup messages from the Information Store. The event will state that you have "unlimited storage" if you are using Enterprise Edition.
