My backup of the Exchange mailboxes is saying failed due to not being able to connect. I have tried setting the BackupExec Service to use the Administrator Account and Exchange account. Any help would be appreciated.

Although the instructions from Veritas say that you should use a seperate account for veritas, try using your regular administrator account, providing it is also a systems account on your exchange server.

When you go into the backup selections, can you select all of the exchange portions? If not, then you definitely have a permissions issue. I would also consult the veritas knowledgebase it is quite good.

For Exchange 5.5 on NT 4.0

1, install Outlook 2000 client.........what BE really needs to connect is a file called Edbbcli.dll that is installed with MS Outlook. ( i know microsoft say do not install on the same server that has exchange admin but BE say install

2 Your service account should be able to log onto exchange, ie BE account must have rights to log onto the exchange server.

If this does not help, give us the error message and i mightgive you a few urls
