We are having a serious problem.

All of a sudden, we can not send or receive email through our Exchange 5.5 mail server.

We have checked the IP settings, we have checked our proxy server, and we have checked our firewall. Nothing appears to be blocking the email system.

We can get through the proxy to the internet; we can surf where ever we want. We can download files with no problem. So we do not think it is the proxy or the firewall.

Any ideas would be very helpful.

This is a critical issue right now.

What are you using to forward your e-mails? Internet Mail Service? I would imagine this is what you're using. I would make sure your mail transport (whatever you're using) is running (e.g. MS Exchange IMS Service). Also, ensure that the host you're forwarding to is reachable: In Exchange Admin, Under your sitename, Configuration, the Connections container - Connections Tab.

If you're using x.400 connector or something else, post that information.

Please check:

1. Services - are all Exchange service running

2. Event logs - can you find and post any relevant Errors?

Thanks
RWS
