Hey Guys,

Looking for some of that great help you give. No luck at Microsoft... =(

My Problem is that we dont have a full copy of Exchange 5.5 So we are stuck installing 5.0 everytime and then using our 5.5 exchange disk. The connector issue comes into play because I want to join the 5.0 server into our site BEFORE I upgrade to 5.5 because I dont know how to bring a standalone 5.5 server into an existing site besides when you are prompted into the install. The error message we get is please insert the "microsoft exchange connector disk" that is all! No file name or nothing. I have tried all of our CD's , downloads from Microsoft, etc. Anyone know how to get these connectors? I assume they are the Exchange 5.0 site connectors?

If anyone knows A) How to bring a standalone 5.5 server into an existing 5.5 site or B) where I can get the exchange 5.0 site connectors I would be VERY greatful. Once again thanks for all your help.

Hi, I got this from Technet concerning the connector disk..

-----------------------------------------------------------
XADM: Exchange 5.5 Standard Does Not Need a Connector Disk

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Exchange Server, version 5.5

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY
You can use a Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 standard edition CD to join an Exchange Server 5.5 standard server.

MORE INFORMATION
The Microsoft Exchange 5.5 standard CD includes all Microsoft Exchange connectors except the X.400 connector so no additional software is needed to create an Exchange Server 5.5 site with multiple servers. If the server you are joining is a standard pre-5.5 server, then you will need to either upgrade that server to Exchange Server version 5.5 or install the connector disk. If you do not, you will receive the following message:

Enter the full path of the Microsoft Exchange Server connector disk.
NOTE: The Microsoft Exchange Server connector disk is a separate piece of software that can be purchased from Microsoft.
-----------------------------------------------------------

And as for bringing a stand alone server into your existing organisation, you can do this using the Move Server Wizard, once the server is fully installed.

I found a way to join 5.5 servers to existing sites when you dont have the full 5.5 install. You can use the exchange server migration wizard. I found it on Microsoft.

The file name is setupmvi.exe its a little over 2mb.

Thanks!
