Hey all,

I'm getting an iPhone setup for a manager and every time I try to connect to the Exchange server (cellular or wifi) I get an error message stating that the password is incorrect. I confirmed with the manager that the password was correct. I even changed his network password to match the his iTunes password and no joy. Is there an additional step somewhere for connecting this iPhone to the Exchange server?

Thanks,

Joe B

I should probably have added that I CAN log onto the network with his name and password, and get into Outlook, and retrieve email. Also, the Exchange server logs just show "Unknown user name or bad password" for his failed iPhone attempts. Maybe it would just be easier to get a new manager. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Joe B

Wow! As weird as this sounds, now that the email address reads as domain\username@domain.com it works. Go figure.

Thanks,

Joe B

That can be changed if you go into IIS to the properties on the Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync and configure the Authentication properties. You can add a default domain there so that it doesn't have to be provided by the users during logon.
