Exchange 2k Synchronization problem with Inbox

I'm fairly new. One of my users using Outlook xp synchronizes his laptop for offline usage. When he closes Outlook it takes 30 minutes for his email to synch. I deleted his ost file and performed a synchronization and all subfolders synched, however his inbox only sychronizes up to 9/9/04. We have no mailbox size limits and he has plenty of room on his hard drive.

Anyone have any ideas?
