Exchange 2k and Outlook 2002&2003 Retrieving Info Popup

Hello all! I am having a strange issue indeed that has popped up and perhaps someone here can help. I am getting various Outlook clients that are getting the infamous retrieving info from the server popup while trying to work in Outlook. The Outlook versions are 2002 and 2003...so far I don't know of any 2000 clients having the issue. I have seen the popup before and I know it can be caused by a number of things...my main concern really is the server that it is referencing is often times not the Exchange 2000 server. It is like their clients are trying to retrieve mail from another Windows 2000 server on the network. The server it references is a Windows 2000 DC...and a global catalog server but it does not even have Exchange installed on it. Anyone ever seen this issue????
