We have Exchange 2010 and have both subscriber and non-subscribers extensions covering to UM. Coverage from extensions with valid mailbox extensions works perfectly but we want to have vacant and conference room extension covering to UM as well. For the vacant extensions we want to leave the cover path setup to cover to UM so when these extensions are setup with users we will not have to change the coverage path.
The problem is, with Modular Messaging if the extension number was not a valid mailbox, MM would allow the caller to go to the operator or try to dial an extension. With UM the caller gets the "Sorry the person you are trying to reach does not have a valid mailbox on our system, Goodbye" prompt and UM hangs up.
How do we get UM to just allow caller to dial (or Speak) a name or go to the operator if they reach the UM system from an extension which is not set up on UM? We do not want to create a different coverage path as these never get updated in the field when new people are given one of these extensions.
Thanks!
