Hi all,

I'm trying to set up 2 exchange 2010 servers one to send mail directly to the internet and the other to pass to our anti spam providers mxsweep. However one server (VEXC0005) is passing mail to the other server (VEXC0006) and as a result we are sending out the wrong email disclaimer as VEXC0006 is used for marketing.

I can't work it out and have been google searching and changing and looking at settings all day.

Any help would be great, I've attached a picture of what we are trying to achieve.

Many Thanks

Hi AW78,

many Thanks for your reply, we already have 2 send connectors set up, this whole system was working fine until today.

The problem is the servers passing mail to each other when they should be working independently.

Each should have a dedicated Send Connector for mail going to the Internet. The first should use MX lookups, and the other should smart host to the antispam provider. Fairly simple.

HI thanks for the replies, One server is already set up to use smart hosts what is happening is instead of sending email onto this smart host it is passing it to the other server.

A bit of development on this, there seems to be some kind of load balancing going on, so sometimes emails are going through 1 server and sometimes through the other server.

What I want to know is how do I switch off this load balancing

I want to be able to specify which server my applications use - VEXC0005 for standard outlook mail and VEXC0006 for the CRM / Marketing.

Thanks

Ian

So these are both part of the same domain and Exchange org? If that's the case, hub transport boxes will load balance naturally.
