Hi

We have exchange 2010 and a client has insisted that we have an edge server.

We do use a smart host Messagelabs for inbound and outbound messaging filtering. I not sure what point is if we already have filtering done externally, we only send/receive mails from and to messagelabs.

I have set up the edge server, emails are getting received ok, but the send connector is set up on the internal mail server, I did try to set this up on the edge server but receieved errors. Surely this should be set up on the edge server?

Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

Configuration is typically done as part of the internal configuration, and sent to the edge box as part of the edge subscription.
