Exchange 2007 with dead 5.5 server in organization

Hi,

Im trying to install exchange 2007 on a win 2008 server.
The current exchange organisation runs in Mixed Mode on a win 2000 server.
I can't change it to native mode (button is greyed out).

My problem is that a couple of years ago, when we moved from exchange 5.5 to 2000, we could not finish the complete removal of the old 5.5 machine as it crashed before.

If I start the 2000 Exchange Manager, I'm still able to see the old 5.5 machine that is greyed out.

Any idea on how to force the native mode ?

I tryed Q284148 without success.

Any help appreciated.
