Hello all,

Our Exchange 2007 is in a datacentre with a 10GB link to a VMware platform that holds a GC.

We currently have a small VMware server on the same subnet doing the Global Catalog for Exchange but would now like to remove that.

My question is, does the Global Catalog for Exchange 2007 have to be on the same subnet?

Thanks all!

No, it just needs a fast connection to it. If you add latency it could have negative performance impacts on your exchange system.

As long as its in the same site and has a low latency link it will be fine. (High speed link != low latency in a lot of cases)

OK going to try it out now.

Thanks for all your help!
