Hi all,

I have a new 2003 exchange server that I will be migrating all of my email accounts to from the old server (also Exchange 2003).

Am I correct that by following these instructions:

Am I correct in thinking that I should be able to cleanly move all roles and accounts from the old to the new server by following this guide? Or is there other tasks that I will need to carry out?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. That guide is the bible in moving Exchange. Follow it exactly, and you shouldn't have any problems.

If you leave Exchange on the old server and leave it running for a while, your Outlook clients will automatically update themselves.

Thanks 58sniper,

Previously I moved accounts to the new server using the move mailbox wizard. I then found this guide and attempted to synch the public folders but by that time I was getting all kinds of problems. Specifically Outlook clients in my remote office, each time they opened outlook it would bring their LAN down. I can only assume this was because Outlook was trying to synch public and system folders that were on the old server??

Anyway, I managed to move everything back to the old server and now I plan to reinstall exchange to the new server and then start from scratch with this guide.
