Hi,
I am currently working through an Exchange migration from Exchange 2003 to 2010. I have to new Exchange 2010 server setup in the domain and working ok. I am now at the point to move the mailboxes from the 2003 server to 2010 server. Does anyone know if I have to do anything with Contacts and Distribution groups? Do these have to be moved like mailboxes do or do they just exist within Active Directory?
Thanks for your help.

To clarify, no. You don't have to move them. Treat these as THE sources for decomissioning Exchange 2003.
