Hi guys,

Have recently upgraded to Exchange 2007 and moved the majority of the mailboxes, however I would really like to change the MX Record to point to the new IP for a couple of reliability reasons.

If I do this will the mail still flow to the mailboxes on the old Exchange through the connector or is it a one way deal?

Thanks for any help in advance.

George

Mail does already flow from the old server (serving as a bridgehead) to the new Exchange 2007 server so thats ok. So I wondered if it would work the other way around if I pointed the MX Record to the new server?

I know the new Exchange 2007 can receive mail from other MX records, I would just like to repoint the MX Record.

Check the send connectors, verify internal 2003 to 2007 and back again works then for completeness, do a telnet session to 2007 with an email to a 2003 user.

Basically I've just suggested doing exactly what Pat suggested. His way is the right way...
