I have read the forums thru the years and found the advice excellent

Currently run Win 2000 back office server with Exchange 2000. the exchange services 4 domains and a public store:
domain1.com
domain2.com
domain3.net
domain4.com

I have to add domains 6 and 7 and have been told that I must upgrade Exchange

The question is will Exchange 2003 Standard work

Thank you

Just so I understand, you mean users have email (SMTP) addresses for one or more of those 4 domains?

Yes, 2003 Standard will handle that but so should 2000

Thank you for the reply..Yes, I have 4 SMTP addresses for the 4 domains. 2000 handles the 4 domains, but it will not allow the 5th nor the 6th. When I create the 5th mailbox group in Exchange System Manager under First Storage Group, I get the message "This storage Group already contains the maximum number of stores allowed, ID C1034A7a"

Thank you in advance

Ah - that's not a domain limitation. And I'm afraid that you'll find that upgrading to Exchange 2003 will not solve your problem as given. Exchange 2003 Standard is limited to one storage group, and Exchange 2003 Enterprise is limited, just as Exchange 2000 Enterprise, to a maximum of 4 storage groups (each storage group can contain up to 5 stores)

You just need to consider organising your mailboxes in a different manner (or, if you really need to put each domain into a seperate storage group, you'll need to consider purchasing a second Exchange Sever)

Okay, I misunderstood the question. Merely adding another email address to each existing user doesn't require additionaly stores or groups.

strongm is correct if you're looking to add more storage groups (not just email addresses to existing accounts).
