We have recently upgraded out database to Pegasus - Opera II which allows users to send Order Acknowledgements, Invoices and Purchase Orders etc direct to the customer via the users Outlook Account. This is all working correctly at our main site.

However we have another site on a different domain which connects to our database via terminal services through a VPN. When these users attempt to send customers/suppliers emails via the database nothing happens as Opera is attempting to send the mail via the users local email account. The mail resides in the users Outbox until it is next opened and the mails are then sent.

Problem being that these mail accounts are never opened and so the mails are not being sent. I have tried setting up an account in AUCD for the users external email address and setting their local accounts to forward. Although this is not working, probably down to the fact that the mails were created in the users account and not received.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get purge mail boxes to open and close every xxx minutes? Or have any other possible solutions?

Cheers

There is a free product that might help here -
Its effectively an smtp relay program that doesnt need an open mailbox to send messages. Dont know if it will work with Opera, but might be worth looking into....
