Exchange 2003 on WAN, Configure Preferred Domain Controller?

We run on a WAN where there are multiple domain controllers.

Is there a way to configure an Exchange 2003 server to use a specific domain controller?

It seems to pick DCs in far away places instead of the DC and Gloabl Cat that is on the same LAN.
