Exchange 2003 Event ID:9548 error

I am getting the following error in event log.

Disabled user /o=Watershed/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=user does not have a master account SID. Please use Active Directory MMC to set an active account as this user's master account.

Microsoft suggest the following solution, but I'm finding it very difficult to follow. Has anyone got a easier step by step approach?
