Hi everyone,

I need your help fixing an issue with my standard exchange 2003. I got the event id#445 witch clearly states that my *edb database has reached its maximum capacity of 16gb. I followed the Microsoft article: and I was able to get another 1gb temporary. Now here is my issue: when I run the eseutil /d (defragmentation)a few minutes after the process started I get an error message (call back dll not found - unable to find a callback library jcb.dll or one of its dependecies). The file does exist however. What Am I doing wrong? Also is there another way without upgrading to fix this database issue?

Thanks for any help,

Theo

Nicolasvdb is correct (and I'm awarding a star to him, and you should, too). But I don't recommend setting it 75GB, as that leaves you no room if you run into the same problem again.

Set it to something like 50GB. If you hit that, time to start hitting up management for an upgrade.

is there anything special prior upgrading to exchange sp2? This is my production box.

Without knowing the environment, I can't say. But there are a bunch of updates to install after SP2. SP2 will stop/start services, so email is down during the upgrade.

Best to read the documentation that comes with SP2.

I just did the upgrade to sp2 and modified the registry key.
It works! Thank you all of you very much.

Make sure you install all related hotfixes and updates to address all known security and stability issues.
