Hi - I am designing a Exchange 2003 setup for my company. We already have ex2000 and are running 2000 AD. I am not planning to upgrade to AD2003 yet but put in Exchange 2003 alongside the current setup and migrate across the mailboxes. We at present have our mailboxes split surnames a-k and j-z and one for members, so three storage groups. We have around 500 mailboxes. I think that keeping the current sotrage groups would be the best best. Also the whole set up will be on a cluster with two raid arrays. Anyone got experience on set up at this scale, which disk configs / setup would be useful!

Cheers

Dan

Depends on size of stores as to how best to do it. Doing mailbox migrations will lose SIS.

Disks - mirrored pairs for logs for each storage group TLs.
RAID5 trios for each storage group DBs.
Mirrored pair for OS, single disk for page file.

You didn't specify hardware specs. If hardware specs are ok, you could in place upgrade which will preserve SIS.
