I have several POP users on our exchange 2003, When the user sends a message to an incorrect email address. The NDR comes back to that account but, the user gets a message in outlook during a send/receive stating there is an unknown error with the mail server and cannot download any new messages.
The user calls me and right now as a workaround I log into the exchange account where the NDR shows up adn delete it from their account. The user can then pop again.
In the event log, Event ID 1023 shows up "error rendering message" and that doesn't really lead anywhere.
