I am receiving incoming email fine and can send email internally with no problems. I just cannot send email external to my domain. I'm fairly certain port 25 is open, I had this up and running several months ago. After a rebuild, I have not successfully regained the ability to send email. I get the usual response of an email to let me know the message has been delayed, then an undeliverable a day or so later. I'm not sure what to check. I run a single domain, single DC so the MX is not the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!!!

sounds like a DNS issue. Check the SMTP virtual server settings. Can you telnet to an external mail host on port 25 and send a message?

yeah, DNS is the likely problem.

Is you internal DNS listed as the Primary DNS in your exchanger server??

Check your internal DNS. If you see a "." zone in there, delete it and restart you DNS admin tools.
